We are festival people. If there’s some sort of family-friendly fest in the area, you can bet that we’ve at least discussed going. But it has been years since we made it out to a Renaissance Faire. The Texas Renaissance Festival near Houston is amazing, but it is a huge commitment for us to go, both in time and money. This year, my friend Stacey was working at the Sherwood Forest Faire outside of Bastrop, so we decided to go check it out. I’m so glad we did. While the Faire is only in its 6th year, it was incredibly well done. Set in the piney woods with great shows, music, food, and market vendors, it was well worth the drive out on 21 with four kids.
